Not quite time for bunnies yet, so here’s the tortoise!

I have mentioned before that my family has been very supportive of my business…perhaps no one more than my cousin, Karena, who has a seemingly never-ending supply of critters available for model calls! Two Golden Retrievers, chameleons, tree frogs, fish, a tiny swimming turtle, electric blue lobster, a pregnant Guinea Pig, three gorgeous blonde boys (how lucky are they?) and more! Watch out when I get a macro lens! This is Biggie, inherited by Karena and her husband, Andrew a few years back – he went from serving platter size to ginormous, apparently preferring the Great Northwest to Southern California. When last I heard, he was 65 lbs! My favorite thing about Biggie is that he eats dandelions – their yard is gorgeous! We’ll be doing a more extensive shoot when the weather warms up a bit!

Supermodels on Superbowl Sunday

Absolutely the only downside to being a pet photographer is massive pet envy, and it’s not easy being green. Carmen and Hurley (Mastiff!) are not only good looking, they have the mellow demeanor of their human caretaker and I love, love them! They also share their home with 2 human teenagers and 4 kitties – one elusive feline is not pictured, but I think you have to agree, these three are super photogenic! Thank you, A, for welcoming me into your home, and allowing me to play with the four foots!

A frustrating effort…

But so worth it to review all the great times I had with so many gorgeous furbabies in 2011! My thanks to my clients, friends, family and all the furry, hairy, wagging, purring, drooling, whinny-ing buddies I got to meet! I love seeing these sweet things loved and cared for. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…Best. Job. Ever. Thank you!  http://youtu.be/rdUikFCsPkU

Why I do what I do…

If this isn’t what it’s all about, I don’t know what is.

I love, love the connection this sweet girl has with her momma. She is getting older, and lost her sister last year, so mom felt it was important, even in the midst of major life chaos right now, to get some photos.

I think this is my new favorite picture.

Teeah’s Float Wrap Is Up!

Teeah’s float wrap, won at Tender Touch Animal Hospital’s Open House in a raffle to benefit the Humane Society, is finished and hung! Please stop by and see it in person at 27099 Miller Bay Road NE, Ste C in Kingston. I could not have asked for a better model or met nicer people!

FFP’s New Logo!

Here is my new logo!  I have been working to create a logo that embodies the spirit of my business, and here is the final result:

My hope is that it conveys the enthusiasm I have for what I do and my love for all of your critters, clawed, pawed and hooved. It is my great pleasure to photograph so many well loved furbabies and record their relevance to our daily lives. I love hearing you tell their stories and am honored to be a small part of your lives. Thank you for supporting my dream job!

Halley Update

If you’ve been following the blog for the past few months (thank you!), you may remember Halley, the stray kitty that stole my friend’s heart, only to be diagnosed as terminal. (Link to earlier post: http://wp.me/p1pNKn-cP) Here’s a happy update – Halley is currently 7 weeks past when the vet said she would be leaving, and looking remarkably healthy. She has become increasingly trusting and affectionate, and I just had to go back to get a few more pictures! Now that it has gotten colder, she is sleeping indoors, and living her last days to the hilt – go Halley!

Meet the superdogs…Bruce and Lois!
