One of these things is not like the others…

Oh, Baby!

So this sweet thing is not a typical FourFootPhotography client…you will notice an alarming lack of fur and only 2 feet, but isn’t she adorable nonetheless? I was lucky enough to take her 6 month pictures, as she belongs to my neighbor and friend. Can you even stand those blue eyes?

Dudley & Mops – Paws Wagfest 2011 Contest Winners!

Here is a sneak peek from my session with Dudley and Mops, the winners of FourFootPhotography’s Paws Wagfest 2011 Photo Contest! While I had to wait for my supermodels to return from their Mexican vacation for our shoot, it was soooo worth the wait, I think you’ll agree! They came back tan (especially Mops), refreshed and, ahem, ready for their close-ups. Far from being a diva, Mops patiently showed Dudley (the fawn), who is only 6 months old, the ropes. He is obviously both a natural and a quick study. Supermodels just keep getting younger and younger! For those of you who know me personally, how much fun was it for me to get my pug on?!

Tender Touch Clinic

Coming up August 20, Tender Touch Animal Hospital in Poulsbo will be having an open house! This is your chance to see the “behind the scenes” at the clinic, sample treats, enter a raffle and have your pet’s photo taken by FourFootPhotography, with proceeds benefitting Kitsap County Humane Society. It was my priviledge to watch Dr Monica and her kind staff in action. Cool beans!

Prancer & Tommie Meet The Pawpurrazzi!

I have to admit, I LOVE a challenge! I firmly believe the only way to learn and grow is to push yourself. When I met Prancer’s mom at Wagfest, she said, “You won’t get a picture of my dog. He won’t look at a camera.” Well, quite frankly, a lot of people say that, but she does have a case! Prancer is a darling, sweet little guy. Not oppositional at all – until you pull out a camera! He was NOT going to do it, but I hope you’ll agree, we convinced him. He actually went a little “Vogue” on us in the end. His cousin, Tommie Tequila, is a rescued greyhound, and extraordinarily shy. He is one lucky dog – his mom works with a rescue group and fosters other dogs. Aren’t they beautiful? I had such a lovely time with them, their moms, and THEIR mom. I love my job.

Shout out to Mud Bay!

Today I went to Gig Harbor to check out a terrific pet food and supply store. Mud Bay is a chain of 20 stores from Olympia to Bothell, selling healthy foods and well made supplies. I was impressed with the selection of products, and loved that alongside well-known national brands I found plenty of locally-produced items as well.  The staff was friendly and helpful, the store clean, bright and well organized, and the prices seemed very reasonable for such an upscale store. Check out the one in Gig Harbor if you’re close, or look online at http://www.mudbay.us for a store near you. The photos are some I took of the manager’s dog, Mammas, about 3 weeks ago. Knowing she had lymphoma, it was important to capture her sweet face. This dog was so very well loved by her whole family, it was a beautiful experience for me to be part of. I’m sorry to say she has since passed, but so grateful we got her pictures when we did. Isn’t she beautiful?

Welcome to Washington!

Meet Quint! I was honored to be the pupparazzi when Quint, a Belgian Malinois, arrived at his new home in Port Orchard from the breeder in Kansas.  To make it even better (I know – better than puppies!?), he waltzed in to a yard complete with Sheltie, Golden Retriever, Great Dane and Bulldog. Oh, you’ll be seeing more of these furbabies!
